1/14/14

January 14th 2014 will always be one of the greatest days of my life. It's the day you made me a mom, my precious girl. While you didn't come into this world easily, already proving you'd do things your own way from the very start, I wouldn't change a thing. After 24 hours of intense pitocin fueled labor and 2 hours of pushing we headed to the operating room

At 4:15pm you were pulled into this world kicking and screaming with a perfect little round head full of the whitest blond hair. You, my love, were not and going to not ever do anything you don't want to do. You were transverse and had never entered the birth canal in the first place, so having you any other way was impossible.

9 years later and you continue to prove to us each and every day what strong will you have, how you'll never back down from a fight, your resilience is unmatched.

Even though this birthday isn't how we planned in so many aspects, it's still an incredible day of celebration. You're on the other side of likely one of the most difficult surgeries you'll ever need, you're on your way to healing, you were discharged for the hospital in time to celebrate at home with your brothers and Mimi and papa.

You're incredible, my beautiful girl, and I promise you the Harry Potter you had planned as soon as you're healed from surgery. Happy 9th birthday sweetheart.
